About Me
My name is Zachary Nienhuser and I’ve always been an artist. Though my tattoo career started with an apprenticeship in 2023, my artistic career has spanned over 10 years.
I graduated with a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design with a focus on Illustration in 2016. I spent years working as a commercial artist in fields such as video games, scenic design, animation, board games, teaching, and fine art. As time moved on I decided that corporate art didn’t align with my morals and goals. I saw some of my peers transition to tattooing. I was always envious of them so I decided to pursue tattooing myself. Tattooing has become such a passion of mine and I am so thankful that this is the life I get to live! I bring my depth of art knowledge to my tattoos to ensure that each tattoo my client’s receive is a genuine work of art.
While I’m versatile and have competency in many styles, my passion is tattoos that are influenced by the art of the late 19th and early 20th century. I love painterly tattoos and tattoos that take inspiration from art movements such as 19th century realism, Art Nouveau, Art of The Vienna Secession, and Jugendstil.
As a person I am a soft-spoken, queer, gentle giant with a plethora of interests beyond tattooing and art. I love antiques, history, gardening, cooking, penmanship, interior design, cinema, mental health, community, teaching, and many more! Basically I’m a nerd who’s always educating himself and will talk your ear off if I’m prompted.
I look forward to working with you!
